My path to becoming a funeral celebrant began after I reached an age when attending funerals became more frequent. I often left ceremonies thinking, "That wasn't very good," with a feeling of being underwhelmed and that something was missing. This led me to research and discover the role of a funeral celebrant, inspiring me to find a way to make changes in how these important ceremonies are approached and delivered.

I undertook the most comprehensive training available and became professionally qualified. Now, after almost 5,000 funerals, I offer families choices within funeral ceremonies they often don't realise they have.

I believe that funeral ceremonies should originate from the loved ones of the person being remembered. The heart of a ceremony should come from the family themselves, and the celebrant's role should be that of a facilitator, whose skills, experience, and training provide a ceremony that truly reflects a family's needs and wishes.

My background as a professional storyteller, performance poet, broadcaster, and lecturer, combined with my comprehensive training and extensive experience, allows me to approach each ceremony with a unique perspective. My years of working within the talking therapies profession has also equipped me with a level of understanding and empathy rarely found.
